ISKCON Sri Jagannath Mandir, Sheshadripuram

This temple is an epitome of the divine love that exuberates in everybody after visiting the temple. The sprawling campus, the greens, and the melody of chanting prayers are all that mesmerise and invigorate people to their potential. The weekly Sunday Love Feast Festival is very popular among the visitors, a special opportunity to taste some of the best vegetarian foods of India.

Art of Living Ashram

The ashram is situated at Udayapura on Kanakapura Road and it’s on the southern fringe of the Bangalore City. The distance from Bangalore to this ashram is about 36 km. It was founded by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar and the ashram teaches how to lead life successfully without any stress. Among many of its teachings, the ashram is known to specialise in Sudrashankriya, a popular technique of stress bursting invented by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. Besides, the ashram offers a host of services such as a wellness centre, ayurvedic spa, well-maintained garden called Radha Kunj, Srikriti (a handicraft shop), and library among others.    

Pyramid Valley International

It is situated at Udayapura on the Kanakapura Road, a few kilometres away from the Art of Living Ashram while coming from Bangalore. It is on the left side of the main road. Visitors to Pyramid Valley International speak highly about the serenity and the divinity of the place especially in the morning when the guru plays a flute. You can find the world’s first mega pyramid here that has been built solely for the purpose of meditation. It is, however, important to mention here that a pyramid meditation offers some intrinsic values such as improved eyesight, BP (Blood Pressure) control, improved hearing and acne and zits removal to name a few. If you are travelling by a car there, parking isn’t a problem.

Meenakshi Sundareshwar Temple

This temple is located at Hulimavu in Bannerghatta Main Road at a distance of 15 km from Bangalore. It is said that Meenakshi Sundareshwar Temple is actually a miniature of the Meenakshi Amman Temple located in Madurai. However, the architecture of the temple is jaw-dropping with a tall tower popularly known as Gopura. Lord Sundareshwar is sitting right at the entrance and goddess Meenakshi is on the other side of the temple. The serenity of the temple, its architectural nuances, and easy access from the places like Bangalore and Kanakapura Road (only 8 km) makes it a unique choice for spending some quality time. Besides, there are shrines within this compound, namely Lord Ganesha, Lord Venkateshwara, Lord Subramanya, and Lord Ayyappa. Shrine for Navagrahas (nine planets) also has a huge area inside.

Banshankari Temple

This heritage temple is one of the famous religious places in the state of Karnataka especially for the City of Bangalore. The temple was built in 1915 and draws a large crowd all throughout a year.
